Ski Conditions

For the most up to date information from Dave checkout the Boulder Lake Skier's Hotline (218) 721-4903.

Last Update:  January 25, 2012: 5:30 p.m.

Snow:  Thin and shallow accumulation, no more than 4 inches in the woods

Grooming: North Side - was NOT groomed. South Side - Lonesome Grouse NOT groomed. Bear Paw and Blue Ox were groomed, no sets just combing out the snow. Nine Pine was also groomed but is thinner than Bear Paw and Blue Ox. The Campground Loop and the lake were also groomed.

Trail Conditions: Bear Paw, Blue Ox, and the Campground loop are in good condition where Nine Pine is in fair to poor condition due to being more covered. There are many open grassy spots on Nine Pine. The lake crossing is very thin, was packed some with the combing of the snow.

Expected Conditions: Will have to wait to get a good weather update to determine the next grooming session. Dave will not groom unless we get more snow.

Other Comments:The Ski Den will remain closed for the time being. There just isn't enough traffic out there to have it open at this time. Be careful out there. Some holes and low spots are there but not easily visible due to some snow coverings. Rocks, pine cones and rough areas are also of some concern.

Boulder Lake Ski Trails

Please be sure to clean up after your dogs on dog days.

Dog Owners and Skijorers: We welcome you and your dog to the Boulder Lake trails on Thursday's and Sundays. Because of the impacts dogs cause to the groomed trails, we are designating Thursday's and Sundays of this year's ski season as "Dog Days". Thursdays and Sundays are selected  by our staff to best match-up with our trail grooming schedule. In other words, we will be re-grooming the trails immediately after each "Dog Day". An alternate location to ski with your dogs would be the Buzz Ryan Road, an ungroomed forest management road on the northeast side of the Boulder Lake Management Area, accessed via Highway 4.
